Sony announced the NXCAM HXR-NX30J today, a miniature camcorder aimed at the professional market, with one real twist — a projector capable of creating an image of up to 100 inches. The camera uses a 1/2.88 CMOS sensor, which is capable of recording at up to 1080p at 60 frames per second, paired with a Carl Zeiss-manufactured 26mm wide-angle lens with 10x optical zoom. It also introduces Sony's "Balanced Optical Steadyshot" technology, described as an industry first, which seems to use Steadicam-like stabilization on the entire optical system, allowing for far more dramatic moves than traditional camcorders.
